Tips For Easy Holiday Prep

This post is sponsored by Blair, an online clothing company, but all opinions are my own. There is something about the holidays, right? It is just a magical time and I truly love it. My mom had so many great traditions that I have passed on to my kids. She also passed on a ton of great tips for easy holiday prep.

Tips For Easy Holiday Prep

I think the best tip mom gave me for getting ready for the holidays was to not stress so much. And she was right. When I find myself running around like a tornado, I miss out on the joy the season brings. That is why I have a few rules I stick with during the holiday season.

Make Family Time A Priority

A few days ago, my sister and I were shopping and talking about mom. She passed away a few days before Christmas in 2013. Although we miss her terribly, we have those wonderful memories we have of helping with her holiday prep.

Baking Is A Fun Family Tradition

Mom was the best baker in the world. I do not claim to be as amazing as she was, but I try! My daughter and I LOVE to hang out in the kitchen. We bake, talk, listen to music, dance and laugh a LOT! Even though it is chilly outside, I am always comfy in my casual looks from!

Don’t you love this cute Weekend Sweatshirt and Fleece Pants from If I am running out to the store for more baking ingredients, I can just grab my Fleece Jacket and I am ready to go! You can see how great the jacket looks in my recent post, Tips For Staying Comfortable and Stylish This Winter.

Let Shopping Be Fun, Not A Chore

I am one of six kids. I can only imagine the cost of gift giving for all of us. When I became a mom, she said you can get 100 other gifts, but if you miss the “ONE” gift kids will mention over and over, you have missed the mark. We have learned to stick with this tradition rather than spending a ton on a bunch of toys they will toss days after the big day has passed.

My Favorite Go To Pieces

When I am out shopping, I want to be comfortable but I want to look great too! My newest favorite outfit is my go-to basics from I LOVE my versatile Essential Stretch Tank and my Plaid Flannel Tunic. This weekend, we were getting a few gifts, and I paired my two favs with the Fresh Sport Pant and my Totes Storm Jacket. What a perfect outfit for this dreary rain we have had lately!
